Ant riddled roach

Ant riddled roach

This is perhaps the most disgusting photo I have ever taken. I went out to the shed today, and moved a vinyl awning which disturbed an ant nest. I grumbled and dragged the mess outside to hose it down, when I saw this gem bundled in the folds. If a roach can live off a spot of grease for a month, how long (and how many) ants can live off a roach? Sort of reminds you of the ant and the grasshopper story. The ants stock food for the winter, while the grasshopper played all summer. I always wondered what happened to the grasshopper.

Doric, Ionic, Corinthian and Fluorescent

Doric, Ionic, Corinthian and Fluorescent

Pseudo-Neo-Classical architecture is mercilessly defaced with a fluorescent light in one of the weirdest, most horrific crimes against design I've ever seen in-person. And the tacky, vinyl awning slapped over the whole thing doesn't exactly help matters.

This is a doorway to a business located in an early-20th-century building on Chestnut St. in Bellingham, Washington.
